Who would have thought there would be a beautiful nature site hidden in the middle of Sukawati, Gianyar? As most people have known, Sukawati is very famous for its art market which has various options of souvenir and cheap, too. People would shop till drop without any objection here (at least, I did hahaha)
I first read about the hidden canyon was from an article on TripCanvas (formerly balimehthesheep), which is my bible for traveling in Bali! I have always gotten new information about where to go and what to do in Bali from TripCanvas, no matter what your interests are. You name it! 😉
I took the less effective way going there as I reached for Sukawati art market first then started asking around. After 2 wrong turns and asked some locals, I finally found the hidden canyon! Thank God!
The Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon was on work progress for the stairs and no entrance fee. However, they prepare a jar for donation. Also, as you will have to be guided by a local (as a ranger), it means you should tip him. They did not name any amount of money, just as you wish. But people mostly tip from IDR 50.ooo to IDR 100.000.
As the rain just stopped that afternoon, the river water was somewhat brown. But there was nobody there! Yassss, I loved it! *_*
